IMPORTANT NEWS FROM THE VILLAGE GROCER & STORE
From 15 November 2021 we will be undertaking significant, long-planned renovations – essential work that will allow us to become a proper IGA, who have minimum space, refrigeration, and shelf space requirements.
We will be removing the partition wall that separates the two paces, fix the ugly old floor, replace the lighting, erect proper Supermarket racking, install new freezers, refrigeration cabinets and an additional register, and more.
This work will necessitate closing the existing shop for about a week (weather and the renovation gods willing), but we will continue to trade (after a fashion), from our store/stockrooms behind the roller doors you can see from the car park. We won’t have space to offer every single one of our products, but the fresh produce, bread, milk, meat, deli items, and a great many of the basic grocery essentials you’ve come to rely on will be available. We won’t have access to our usual register either, so we will ask you to be extra patient with our lovely staff who’ll be using a jury-rigged iPad with a credit card reader. Cash is always welcome.
For the duration of the work, we will be open from 9am-5pm. Our landline will be out of action so while we will continue to offer a home delivery service, you’ll need to call 0418 425 611 and leave a message for one of our staff to call you back.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for showing us such great support while we’ve been slowly building this business into one we believe the community needs and deserves. We hope that you’ll continue to support us during this messy time.
We we look forward to welcoming you into our new space very soon.
